Carolyn Jean is also an accomplished dancer and songwriter. She began publicly performing at age 4, started touring in a ballet company at age 11, performed in many local musical theatre productions, and at age 15 was accepted to the prestigious School of American Ballet of the New York City Ballet.

After graduating high school, Carolyn Jean Bell’s passion for performing inspired her to move to New York City. Her penchant for poetry led to songwriting and she began singing her songs in rock bands all over the tri-state area in such notable venues as CBGB’s. Carolyn Jean then moved to Europe, recruited a band of international musicians, and toured there for a number of years.

Back in the United States, her voice caught the attention of multi-platinum producer Ric Wake, who has worked with such superstars as Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. He took her under his wing, helping her to hone her musical style.
